Table Tennis
Table tennis is a cheap and accessible sport played by 2.4 million people in the United Kingdom. For people of all ages and abilities, table tennis clubs provide the best place to learn and play the sport. It can be as friendly or competitive as you wish, but the emphasis tends to be on having fun and playing as part of an active social life.

All members of the club are eligible to play in the club's internal league, which takes place on a Monday evening.
The club plays in the Barrow & District Table Tennis League (B&DTTL).
Home games are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Rugby Union
Rugby Union, commonly known as rugby, is a contact team sport which originated in England in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. Rugby union is a popular sport around the world, played by male and female players of all ages.
Rifle and Pistol
The sport of target shooting involves the use of air rifles and pistols, muzzle-loading rifles and pistols and cartridge rifles, both rimfire and centrefire. Shooting requires concentration, self-discipline and great self-control, despite what you may have seen in the movies. There are very many different competitions that shooters can enter once they feel competent enough.

The club shoots in national competitions via postal leagues and travels to several events around the country.
The section is affiliated to the National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA) and The County of Lancashire Small-bore Target Shooting Association (CLSTSA)
Wednesday nights - 25yd prone and bench rest rifle shooting between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm.
Thursday nights - 20yd shooting of air pistol & Light Weight Sporting Rifle, which includes all types of air rifles, 22LR rifles. between 7.00 pm and 9.30pm.
Sunday nights - 10 metre air pistol and rifle shooting. (Currently on hold)
The club has coaches to tutor new shooters and help to fine-tune any shooters that are trying to improve themselves.
Cricket
As a team game, cricket demands an exceptional variety of specialist skills, as well as accommodating a variety of physical types. Players have to perform different roles in different phases of the match. There is a culture of mutual respect, whilst also teaching children the importance of self-reliance and practice.
Seniors play in the North Lancashire and Cumbria League. Juniors play at under 11, under 13 and under 15 level in the Barrow and District league.
All coaches are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and have England Cricket Board (ECB) coaching qualifications.

Club training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm.

Football Juniors
Today, 11.8 million people play football in England. Joining a team at an early age is a great way to learn the sport, and develop the wide range of technical skills required. Youth football promotes good attention and awareness skills, and an understanding of the importance of team play, as well as being a great social pastime.
Bowls
Crown Green Bowls is played on a convex grass surface. Players use two bowls each, and have to roll their bowls towards a smaller target bowl, known as a jack. Each player is aiming to get their bowls closest to the jack, in order to score points.

Archery
Archery is a fast-growing sport right across the UK. It has captured the imagination of over 47,000 members of Archery GB, and many more at ‘have a go’ archery events, activity centres, outdoor shows and tourist attractions.
It is a fascinating, inclusive and accessible sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Archery has a fun and sociable community, and it encourages personal fulfilment and friendly competition.

External competition league(s)
Members can involve themselves only in the weekly meetings or if desired, however they can enter competitions around the country including a number in Cumbria. You are free to enter whichever competitions you like, and do so as an individual representing the club.

When joining the section you must also join GNAS (Grand National Archery Society) also known as Archery GB.

Coaching available
Novices must complete a Beginners Course. The course is run in house by a qualified Archery Leader. Club nights are run in a friendly atmosphere where club members are happy to offer advice on both equipment and shooting style.
Club equipment & facilities
The club have a wide range of equipment for beginners to use until they decide to purchase their own.
We shoot outdoors whenever possible from March to October and we have access to the indoor shooting range all year long.
